What's the minimum age to rent?+
The minimum age for booking directly through Octane Prestige is 25. Many of our vehicles are also available to rent via our Turo platform, where drivers aged 21 and over may book. Due to insurance underwriter compliance requirements, we're unable to offer direct bookings to drivers under 25. What driver's licence do I need (do you accept international licences)?+
All drivers must hold a current Open/Unrestricted driver's licence. International licences are accepted, provided that any licence not printed in English is accompanied by an official translation or an International Driving Permit (IDP).
Do you check driving history or demerit points?+
Yes. Our insurance underwriter requires all drivers to provide their driving history as part of the booking process. If this information is not supplied, the booking will proceed without third-party insurance cover, or may be cancelled.
What's your cancellation and refund policy?+
Cancellations made with at least 72 hours' notice are eligible for a full refund; cancellations made within this window are not refundable. Bookings made under a non-refundable rate are not eligible for a refund at any time, regardless of notice given.
Can I extend my rental once it's started?+
Yes. Extensions can be arranged via the booking management email you received, through your account, or by contacting our team directly on +61 457 412 262.
Is a security deposit required, and how much / how is it held (credit card hold vs cash)?+
Yes, a security deposit of $2,000 applies to all bookings. For rentals under 7 days, this is held as a credit card authorisation. For rentals of 7 days or longer, the deposit is payable via direct bank deposit, or can be charged to the card on file.
What insurance is included, and what's my excess/liability in the event of damage?+
All bookings include third-party liability insurance with a $5,000 excess. Due to insurance limitations, we are unable to offer comprehensive coverage directly. For additional protection, RentalCover.com is an independent third-party provider offering coverage of up to $100,000 (Octane Prestige is not affiliated with RentalCover). For bookings of one month or longer, please contact our team to discuss a comprehensive coverage solution.
